Brand Story - A Journey into Bamboo
Before I arrived in Fujian and Zhejiang, I knew bamboo forests could spread. But I had no real understanding of their magic. That all changed one rainy night in Fujian.
I was deep in sleep, the sound of rain lulling me into a peaceful dream. Suddenly, I was awakened by a strange rustling. My bed shook! Confused, I sat up and realized — my bed was lifted by bamboo shoots!
What a sight! Those slender green stalks, bursting with life, amazed me. I had never witnessed such rapid growth before. It was as if nature was reminding me of its power and resilience. In that moment, I felt a connection, a spark igniting within me.
This unforgettable experience became my gateway into the world of bamboo products. I began to explore the versatility of bamboo—its strength, sustainability, and beauty. I learned how it can be transformed into everything from furniture to kitchenware. Each piece tells a story of craftsmanship and respect for nature.
Now, bamboo is not just a plant to me; it’s a passion. It symbolizes a commitment to sustainability and innovation. I strive to share this journey with others, to inspire them to embrace bamboo as I have.
Who would have thought that a single night could change everything? That a simple encounter would lead me to a path of purpose? I invite you to join me on this journey. Discover the wonders of bamboo, and let it inspire you too!

How We Work
At Widebamboo, our approach to producing bamboo products is rooted in traditional ideas and modern aesthetics. At every step of the process, from sourcing to production, we pay attention to detail to ensure that each product reflects the natural beauty and strength of bamboo.
The journey begins with the bamboo itself, which we carefully select from mature bamboo forests, then harvest and process using sustainable methods that respect the environment and preserve the plant's natural ability to regenerate. It then reaches our craftsmen, who shape, polish and transform the raw bamboo into a functional product through a series of standard processes. We ensure that each product meets strict quality standards and is carefully packaged for delivery to homes around the globe. The bamboo manufacturing process typically includes the following steps:
- Harvesting: Bamboo is harvested at the optimal age, typically between 3 to 5 years, ensuring maximum strength and flexibility while preserving the surrounding ecosystem.
- Initial Cleaning: The harvested bamboo is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, debris, and any outer layers that may affect quality, ensuring it is free from contaminants.
- Special Treatment: Bamboo undergoes a special treatment to enhance durability and resistance to pests and fungi, often involving soaking in protective solutions.
- Steam Cooking: The bamboo is steam-cooked to soften the fibers and eliminate residual sugars that attract insects, while also sterilizing the material.
- Drying and Moisture Control: After steam cooking, the bamboo is carefully dried to reduce moisture content, ensuring levels are maintained below 7%. This controlled process prevents warping or cracking and preserves the bamboo's structural integrity.
- Mold Prevention: A mold prevention treatment is applied post-drying to protect against fungal growth during storage and usage.
- Sugar Removal: A sugar removal process eliminates any remaining sugars, preventing insect infestations and decay, thus extending the product's lifespan.
- Cutting and Shaping: The processed bamboo is cut and shaped according to specific product designs, utilizing precision tools for high-quality finishes.
- Finishing Touches: Finally, bamboo products undergo finishing processes, including sanding, polishing, and applying natural oils or coatings to enhance appearance and durability.
